Q: I get garbage characters only for a CD with non latin characters in the title information.

A: This is due to a faulty entry in the freedb/GnuDb database. You need to select the real encoding of the CDDB entry in fre:ac. If you have found the correct encoding, please resubmit the entry to the database to fix it.

Q: My submitted entries do not appear in the CDDB database.

A: Please make sure you are using the latest version of fre:ac. The freedb implementation of some earlier versions had problems in combination with some CD-ROM drives.

You can also set your email address in the CDDB configuration to receive notifications about failed CDDB submissions.

Q: I cannot connect to the CDDB server at cddb.cddb.com.

A: fre:ac currently supports only freedb compatible databases. Please use the GnuDb server at gnudb.gnudb.org for now. Support for Gracenote CDDB will not be available in fre:ac due to licensing issues.
