Saturday, 09 April 2011 02:00 |
A new snapshot of fre:ac is now available for testing.
Snapshot 20110409 adds support for reading and writing MP4 chapters. This enables you to create audio books with chapter marks that will be recognised by your iPod or other portable player. You can also split existing audio books into separate files for each chapter with fre:ac now.
The snapshot also adds support for the FreeBSD, Solaris and Mac OS X operating systems. However, all three ports are still very incomplete at the moment. On the other hand, Linux support has improved a lot since the last snapshot.
You can get the new snapshot in the downloads section. Please use it for testing only, not for daily work! |

fre:ac snapshot 20101205 |
|
Sunday, 05 December 2010 02:00 |
fre:ac snapshot 20101205 is available for download and testing.
This snapshot release features an integrated video downloader that will grab video files from sites like YouTube, Dailymotion, or Yahoo! Video. Downloaded videos are automatically added to the joblist so you can extract audio tracks and save them as MP3 or another audio format. You can optionally save and keep the downloaded video files on your hard disk as well.
This version also adds support for the Linux operating system. This is still in a very early stage and considered pre-alpha quality for now. It is a solid base for future development though.
Besides those the new snapshot has added support for opening cue sheets and splitting whole disc images to individual files.
You can get the 20101205 snapshot in the downloads section. Please be aware that this is an alpha version and should not be used for daily work. |
