This Privacy Policy was last revised and shall become effective as of April 11th, 2020. This Privacy Policy covers the fre:ac software as published in Microsoft's Windows Store. By using the software, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy in its entirety. Softwarefre:ac, as a software, does not, in any way, collect any Personal Information. In fact, no information (personal or not) is ever collected or transmitted except as described in the following three (3) paragraphs for the purpose of exchanging (querying and posting) CD metadata with an online CD database. fre:ac implements the CDDB specification in order to exchange (query and post) CD metadata (artist, album and track titles) with a CDDB compatible online database. The database to access for these transfers is configurable by the user. The default settings direct fre:ac to use the CDDB database hosted at freedb.freac.org. fre:ac is able to query CD metadata from a CDDB compatible database. This process involves transmitting the user's IP address and a CD specific "Disc ID" to the online database server. When using the default database, the transmitted data is used exclusively to serve the database query request and is not stored on the server or elsewhere. fre:ac is able to post CD metadata updates to a CDDB compatible database upon user request (expressed by invoking the "Submit CDDB data" dialog and clicking "Submit"). This process involves transmitting the user's IP address, a CD specific "Disc ID" and the CD metadata entered in the "Submit CDDB data" dialog to the online database server. When using the default database, the transmitted IP address is used only to serve the database submission request and is not stored on the server or elsewhere. The transmitted "Disc ID" and CD metadata are stored in the database and made publicly available for subsequent CD metadata queries.
